We encourage you to bring your single friends to United Singles. If each of our members would bring just one person to our dances/ socials over the course of the year, many of these people would probably become members. Meeting new people is what our club is all about.

ADMISSION: Admission at the door is $10 for guests and $8 for members. If a member brings a first time guest, that member receives a free pass for that same dance.

ATTIRE: Dance attire is dressy-casual. No T-shirts or shorts. Good quality jeans and sneakers are okay (no holes or worn-out knees). This is your chance to make a good impression.

FOOD/BEVERAGE: The Knights of Columbus' policy does not allow anyone to bring any beverages or food other than packaged dessert type items into the building. There will be a jar at the back table for monetary donations for snacks.

MEMBERSHIP: You may attend as a guest a maximum of five dances/socials after which you are required to join United Singles to continue attending our dances/socials.

MEMBERSHIP DUES: Annual dues are $15. You may either pay at the dances/socials or mail a check to: United Singles, P.O. Box 3784, Joliet, IL 60434.

Past due membership dues go back to original due date. If you do not renew and come in as a guest, you can come 5 times before being required to join.

If you renew at a dance, it will be the $15.00 renewal and $5.00 to get into that dance.

IMPORTANT! Please keep your membership dues up to date. Your membership dues allow the club to continue holding dances/socials and special activities. Without membership dues paid on time, the club will not be able to continue.

You will be notified of membership renewal time via a postcard mailed to your home.

NAME TAGS: Everyone must wear a name tag. Red Tags are for guests and blue tags are for members.

NEWSLETTERS: In a effort to save money on printing and postage, effective January 2009, monthly newsletters will no longer be sent. Members in good standing will receive a Member Handbook upon joining for the first time or renewing their membership. The Member Handbook should be kept handy all year. It has all the basic information you need. Pick up activity sheets at the dances/socials and membership renewal postcard reminders will be mailed. Feel free to call anyone on the board should you have questions about the club.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Photos may only be taken by Board Members or by members who have obtained permission from the Board of Directors to take pictures at any of our dances/socials or singles events. Personal cameras or camera phones are not allowed at any of our functions.

SMOKING: According to IL law, effective January 1, 2008, smoking is no longer allowed on the premises of Knights of Columbus. You may smoke in front of the building 15 ft. from the door. An ashtray is already in place.
